Fred's automotive repair and service career began over 30 years ago while working in his father’s automotive shop. There, he received hands-on auto repair and service training. He serviced and repaired every make and model, but then decided to focus only on Toyotas. They were always his favorite cars to work on in his father's shop.

An Independent Toyota and Lexus Auto Shop

In 1991, Fred went to work for a local Toyota dealership. Working with the dealership helped him become ASE-certified in 1993. By meeting all the requirements, he also became a Toyota-certified technician, and in 2000, he received his ASE certification. In addition, he was certified by Toyota to work on the hybrid models in 2005. After years of frustration with the day-to-day operations of working at the dealership, he resigned and decided to work for an independent Toyota and Lexus specialty shop.

Two years later, he decided to return to a Toyota dealership where he learned that little had changed. It was that realization that motivated him to open the doors of TLS Auto Specialist in 2009, which is an automotive repair facility currently specializing in Toyota and Lexus cars.

He started the company with his son Casey who had begun working with him seven years ago at the shop as a teen. Casey’s goal is to become one of the finest technicians and get his ASE certifications!
